Göteborgs Stadsmission is a non-profit organization that aims to support people living in vulnerable situations. Together, we want to create a Gothenburg where everyone is included. A city where we meet the person, not the problem.

ABOUT US

The purpose of the study support program is to provide conditions for students in grades 4-6 to receive support in their schooling to complete their studies.

Currently, we offer study support with the goal of working both as a standalone initiative and as an entry point to strengthen the child's overall living conditions outside of school.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for a person to join our study support teams at two middle schools in Biskopsgården. The number of shifts is 4 per week, each lasting 2.5 hours, Monday to Thursday during the school terms, with additional shifts as needed. Working hours are scheduled on weekday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, depending on when the children finish school (the times are set before each new school year).

As a study supporter, you will assist the children with their studies after school and support them in having a meaningful leisure time during breaks. During the school terms, two study support sessions are organized per week at each school, where there are 2 study supporters, volunteers, and a social worker present at each session. Snacks are provided at all our study support sessions. We also offer activities for children during all school breaks and occasional children's councils.

WHO ARE YOU

You have a high school diploma, and it is an advantage if you have previous experience in study support.

You follow our established study support concept and act as a role model as our representative. You are creative and work based on the conditions and resources available, and you are passionate about creating good conditions for children in their studies.

Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a requirement. Language skills in Arabic, Somali, and Turkish are advantageous. If you also have pedagogical experience, we prioritize that highly.

You have plenty of patience and preferably a smile on your face as we meet children with different needs in our activities. You are, of course, punctual and place great importance on personal qualities, such as enjoying meeting the children and being able to provide adequate/good study support.
