Description
At Frölundaskolan, an adapted primary school for grades 1-9, we are now looking for a full-time special educator.
Frölundaskolan is a multicultural primary school with approximately 270 students from preschool class to grade 9, as well as an adapted primary school from grade 1 to 9. Frölundaskolan is part of the South-West School Area 3 together with Slottsbergsskolan. The schools are located in southwestern Gothenburg, near Ruddalen and Frölunda Torg.
Responsibilities
As a special educator with us, you will work at the organizational, group, and individual levels to create and develop learning environments that support all students' development towards the school's knowledge goals. At all levels, you will work with both promoting, preventive, and remedial measures. To thrive with us, you need to have a strong commitment to teaching development and be a good mentor.
When the teaching teams at Frölundaskolan meet for collaboration, the teachers work based on three recurring themes: trusting relationships, attendance, and high-quality teaching. Each theme is led by representatives from student health and/or team leaders. As a special educator, you will lead, together with the school's other special educator, the team High-Quality Teaching. In your role, you are responsible for leading the work within the theme and, together with the school management, deciding on its content. You have great opportunities to influence and contribute to the school's development work and to the focused work of ensuring that all students receive high-quality teaching.
The preventive and promoting work of the school area is conducted both locally at each school and collectively through recurring half-days when we collectively set the direction for our promoting and preventive work.
You will be part of a student health team where you, together with the school's other professionals such as the principal, vice principal, psychologist, counselor, speech therapist, and school nurse, work to support and strengthen students' learning and development. Together with the student health team and other colleagues, you will conduct assessments and investigations to identify and meet students' needs for special support. Furthermore, you will help formulate action programs and conduct teaching based on what has been outlined in the action programs. Some collaboration with external actors may also occur.
You will work with several digital systems, including Vklass, which is the school's learning platform, and PMO.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher with further education as a special educator. You should have experience working in an adapted primary school and with students with special needs. Experience working as a special educator is an advantage. Experience with the digital systems PMO and Vklass is also advantageous. It is beneficial if you have experience and/or specialized training related to the student group in the adapted primary school.
You find it easy to collaborate with and mentor teachers to create conditions for every student to develop. Encouraging participation, openness, and tolerance is something we see as essential. It is important that you can work independently within guidelines and practices and that you can recommend measures, document, and participate in decisions. The work requires a flexible approach, initiative, good collaboration skills, IT proficiency, and a positive view of students. You are open-minded, innovative, and work based on research and proven experience to challenge yourself and others in your work.
We also see that you promote a respectful work environment and create good relationships with both colleagues and students and guardians. You do this by being open and accommodating and by listening to your surroundings to understand their needs.
Furthermore, you have the ability to remain stable under pressure, where you can balance different demands and maintain a positive attitude. Continuous development of the operations occurs with us, so we would like you to contribute new ideas and perspectives on work-related issues and challenge methods, working methods, and ways of thinking.
Welcome with your application!
