Göteborgs Stadsmission is a non-profit organization that aims to support people living in vulnerable situations. Together, we want to create a Gothenburg where everyone is included. A city where we meet the person, not the problem.

ABOUT US

The study support program aims to provide students in grades 4-6 with better conditions to succeed in their education and complete their studies. Our study support is both a pedagogical initiative and an important entry point to strengthen the child's overall living conditions – both in and out of school.

Through secure relationships, structure, and support, we aim to contribute to increased school attendance, enhanced self-esteem, and future prospects for the children.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are now looking for study supporters on an as-needed basis for our activities in northeastern Gothenburg. Currently, study support is provided at Lövgärdesskolan, Gårdstensskolan, and Bergsgårdsskolan, and in the spring, the program will expand to Utmarksskolan and Gärdsåsskolan.

The work includes:

• Up to 4 shifts per week, 2.5 hours per shift
• Scheduled for weekday afternoons Monday–Thursday, 1:00 PM–5:00 PM (exact times will be set before each new school year)
• Opportunity for extra shifts as needed

As a study supporter, you will assist the children with their schoolwork after school and contribute to a meaningful leisure time during school breaks. Each study support session is staffed by study supporters, volunteers, and a social worker. Snacks are always provided, and the program is complemented with holiday activities and children's councils.

WHO ARE YOU

You have a high school diploma, and it is advantageous if you have previous experience in study support. You follow our established study support concept and act exemplary as our representative. You are creative and work based on the conditions and resources available, and you are passionate about creating good conditions for children in their studies.

Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form is required. Language skills in Arabic and Somali are advantageous. If you also have pedagogical experience, we prioritize that highly.

You are punctual, patient, and preferably have a smile on your face as we meet children with different needs in our activities. We place great importance on personal qualities, such as enjoying meeting the children and being able to provide adequate/good study support.
