Are you looking for a diverse role as a special education teacher?

We now have the opportunity to offer a position as a special education teacher where you will work broadly in the role of special teacher for our students from preschool to fifth grade and be part of our special education team.

Within the special education support, you will be part of a team of five people, special educators and special teachers working together on special support. You will work closely with each other and with other educators at the school as well as the student health team. We are now expanding our special education team with an additional special teacher focusing on language, reading, and writing development.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Working closely with students focusing on language, reading, and writing development.
  • Supporting in SVA teaching for teachers and students.
  • Planning, implementing, and following up on teaching based on students' individual needs and conditions.
  • Creating a safe, clear, and supportive learning environment.
  • Using varied pedagogical methods and tools to meet different learning styles.
  • Collaborating with special educators and teachers regarding adaptations and action plans.
  • Maintaining close communication with guardians and participating in development talks.
  • Documenting students' progress according to applicable guidelines.
  • Participating in work teams and contributing to the development of teaching through experience exchange.
  • Continuously working on evaluating and adapting teaching.
  • Staying updated and participating in relevant professional development.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is an experienced, qualified, and certified teacher for lower and/or middle school and has a degree as a special teacher. It is particularly meritorious if you have specialization in language, reading, and writing development.

As a person, you are solution-oriented, flexible, and have good collaboration skills with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are attentive and have the ability to adapt your approach and communication with students based on their needs. To thrive in this role, you need to have the ability to create a structured working method, be responsible, and apply a low-arousal relational approach in situations that require it. You find it important and enjoyable to work in a team around students!

The Education Administration is responsible for the municipality's childcare and educational activities from preschool and after-school to preschool class, primary school, adapted school, high school, adult education, and various commissioned training programs. Our vision is that every student leaves school rich in knowledge and convinced of their ability to create their future together with others. All students should also remember their school time as safe, fun, and educational. The various activities of the Education Administration have a clear common focus on all children's and students' conditions for completing their studies.

Welcome to Öjersjö Brunn! We are a school located in Öjersjö surrounded by beautiful forests and nature. The school has 650 students from preschool to fifth grade. At Öjersjö Brunn, we work in smaller houses and appropriately sized work teams where teachers' workplaces are among the students, so that everyone can be seen and have the opportunity to develop based on their conditions. The school's staff is knowledgeable, engaged, and at the forefront of developing teaching to enhance our children's learning. Our special education team works closely with educators in the work of adaptations and special support.
