The Department of Psychology has about 140 employees and conducts extensive educational and research activities in collaboration with the surrounding community. The Department of Psychology is now seeking one to two student assistants to assist with research activities within the ICON Lab research group, primarily in a project investigating brain plasticity during learning.

Job Responsibilities

The student assistant's tasks include conducting data collection; for example, recruiting research participants, interviewing research participants, and associated administrative tasks.

Qualifications

Only those who are admitted to undergraduate or graduate education may be employed as student assistants. To be employed as a student assistant, applicants must be admitted to the Psychology program or the international master's program at the Department of Psychology, University of Gothenburg, and are expected to study during the spring term of 2026.

The position requires good planning and independent working skills, as well as comfort in communicating with research participants and colleagues. Excellent language skills in Swedish and English are required. Experience in research activities, service professions, and patient-related work is advantageous. Experience in practical research activities within cognitive psychology or cognitive neuroscience is particularly meritorious.

Employment

The positions are temporary for 4-5 months, 25% of full-time, with placement at the Department of Psychology. Start date in January 2026 or as soon as possible by agreement.

In the selection of qualified applicants, the candidate who, after a holistic assessment of skills (based on experience and personal qualities) and development potential, is deemed to have the best conditions to carry out the above-described tasks will be chosen. Additionally, personal qualities such as planning ability, independence, and communication skills will also be considered.
