Substitute Preschool Teacher at Åsle Preschool

We are looking for someone with a preschool teacher license or equivalent experience. Your primary focus will be to work with younger children. In the departments Lilltån and Mellantån, you will find the younger children. The departments are adjacent and have a close collaboration. Together, you form a work team where you will work with a preschool teacher and three childcare workers.

The substitute position extends throughout 2026, with the possibility of extension and a permanent position.

Åsle Preschool and Free School has been operating for 5 years now. In the autumn of 2022, we began to realize our plans for an outdoor classroom, a garden with berry bushes, a barbecue area, and a sledding hill. We want to create opportunities for more creative environments both outdoors and indoors for learning and play. Adjacent to the schoolyard, there is a hilly field of about 1 hectare available to us. Along the preschool's inner yard flows a small stream, and less than a kilometer away lies our scenic school forest. The preschool is located in the middle of the village, which is about a 10-minute drive from Falköping.

In your role as a preschool teacher, you will be responsible for planning the educational instruction. We see you as a key person who, together with your colleagues, can develop the vision and goals of the organization. Here, you do not work alone - we are a strong and cohesive team that together follows the child's journey from Lilltån (the one-year-olds) to grade 6.

We build our operations on proven experience and scientific principles, where the child's needs and curiosity are at the center. Flexibility and cross-border collaboration are a natural part of our everyday life - we believe in the power of working together. We place particular emphasis on language development and fostering a love for reading, as we know that reading is the key to all future learning.

We offer wellness grants, work clothes for outdoor use, and a wonderful environment to work in. Meals are prepared on-site, and staff eat for free with the children.

You work to create a stimulating and educational preschool where children thrive, feel safe, and have fun. Based on the curriculum, you choose methods, content, and interactions according to each child's specific conditions. In your work, you should also be able to document, analyze, and express yourself well in speech and writing. You have the ability to create good relationships with children, colleagues, and guardians. You have strong initiative, are goal-oriented, structured, confident in your professional role, and possess personal maturity.
