The Department of Health and Care Sciences conducts education and research focused on care, health, and people's living conditions. We train nurses, radiology nurses, specialist nurses, and midwives with the goal of meeting society's need for competent and committed healthcare personnel. The research at the department spans many areas but has a common starting point in person-centered and evidence-based care. We are nationally and internationally leading in person-centered care, and this perspective permeates both education, research, and collaboration with healthcare. The department is part of the Sahlgrenska Academy at Gothenburg University and operates on the Medicinareberget Campus, in close proximity to Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Working with professional supervision in care aims to give students opportunities to reflect on and process situations in their professional practice. This can contribute to increased self-awareness and greater awareness of and understanding of the needs, experiences, and reactions of patients and their relatives. Professional supervision further supports and strengthens students' ability to provide qualitatively good care. The employee should have a strong commitment to creating good conditions for students' learning and a strong pedagogical engagement.

The position is primarily located within the section of Diagnostics and Care in Acute and Critical Conditions.

Subject Description

Nursing is based on a humanistic view of humanity and encompasses knowledge about human development, health, and well-being in connection with birth, illness, suffering, and death. The starting point is to promote a meaningful life despite illness or disability, as well as to enable a dignified death. The focus of nursing is to alleviate suffering, promote health, and prevent illness and poor health at the individual, group, and societal levels. Nursing is based on needs and problems related to health and illness and daily life, but also on people's resources and ability to manage their life situation.

Tasks

The tasks include teaching as a process supervisor in the course OM 5031, Professional Supervision in Care and Care Supervisor Education, 30 ECTS credits. Supervise students in Supervision in Professional Function and Supervision in Supervision. Furthermore, it includes supervising nursing students during terms 1-6 in the Professional Track.

Administrative tasks related to the educational activities are a significant part of the duties.

Other tasks may also occur, and the content of the employment may change over time.

The position also includes actively contributing to achieving the department's goals and operational plan, which includes working to develop the academic environment within the section's Complete Academic Environment (KAM). Furthermore, all employees are expected to participate in the planned joint meetings and activities organized by the department.

The applicant must teach in both Swedish and English.

Eligibility

Eligibility for employment as a teacher is specified in Gothenburg University's employment regulations.

Requirements for the position include demonstrated pedagogical skills, a completed doctoral degree, and certified supervision in professional supervision in nursing. A nursing degree, Swedish nursing license, and clinical work experience as a nurse are also requirements for the position.

Proficiency in Swedish and English in both spoken and written form is required.
