to apply for the job

We are looking for someone who, together with students at a school in Stockholm, starting in January 2026 wants to establish, develop, and run a sports club to make physical activity a natural part of the school day. Djurgården Skolidrott spreads the joy of movement among children and young people through activities such as dance, gymnastics, handball, basketball, swimming, aerobics, and more. The goal is to create opportunities for inclusive and fun physical activity so that more can have the chance to move before, during, and after school hours.

If you want to work to increase the amount of physical activity and improve public health, be part of building something entirely new, and at the same time strengthen Sweden's most successful sports club, then this job is for you!

What you will do

  • Lead the club activities at a school together with school staff and students
  • Organize sessions with different types of physical activities that you or others lead
  • Act as a Djurgården ambassador for the club in the school's local area and actively create and maintain relationships with the local community, including collaboration with local sports clubs
  • Work and document in the existing operational systems

What we would like to see in you

  • You are passionate about sports, exercise, and training and have some type of sports experience; preferably dance, gymnastics, handball, basketball, or swimming, but you are a generalist
  • You take initiative and drive things forward, solve problems as they arise, and take responsibility
  • You are a relationship builder, able to gather and lead diverse groups towards a goal – primarily children and young people, but also adults
  • You are meticulous, structured, and organized
  • You encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement
  • You can balance different demands and remain calm in difficult situations
  • You have the ability to work collaboratively with others to perform tasks and achieve goals
  • You understand the common mission, act accordingly, and contribute to the whole
  • You express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing, as this is required in daily work

What you can expect from us

We strive in word and deed to be not just a learning organization, but also a knowledge-thirsty one. This means that you can expect individual and collective development with us. Through education, guidance, theory, and practice, we develop both ourselves and our organization together.

We believe that different perspectives make us better. Therefore, we welcome applicants from a broad sports background, gender, and origin.

We offer The position is a full-time role with work Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 17:00. The long days are compensated with extended leave over Christmas and summer. The position is a fixed-term employment for one year with good opportunities for extension and corresponds to a childcare worker role with a starting salary of 26,000 SEK. Start date is January 5, 2026. Before an employment offer, a valid extract from the police criminal record must be presented.

We will be working continuously with selection and interviews, so do not wait to apply. If this sounds like something for you, we think you should apply for the position today!
