Mathematics Teacher Grades 4-9
We are now looking for a certified mathematics teacher for grades 4-9 for a role focused on supporting students in mathematics and supporting teaching mathematics teachers. The position is a permanent employment at 60% (with the possibility of increased assignment) and we apply a six-month probationary period.
As a mathematics teacher for grades 4-9, you will, in close collaboration with the teaching mathematics teachers and the special education team, support students who face challenges in mathematics. The position does not involve teaching your own full class.
Job Description
The role includes working closely with students as well as supporting and guiding teachers in adapting the learning environment and designing additional adaptations. Together with the responsible teaching teacher, you identify students' difficulties in mathematics and plan the teaching based on these, both at group and individual levels.
You support teachers and students in the regular teaching and plan and conduct mathematics teaching in smaller groups or individually. You have experience using assessment and screening materials, such as Förstå och använda tal (FAT), Adler, or equivalent tools.
Mentorship for a group of students may be included in the position.
Who are you?
- You are an educated and certified mathematics teacher for primary school, grades 7-9.
- You have good knowledge of screening and assessment materials in mathematics and the ability to systematically plan, implement, and follow up on remedial measures based on students' needs.
- You are well acquainted with the Swedish National Agency for Education's governing documents.
- You share the values and pedagogical ethos of International English School.
- You share our conviction that "children do the right thing if they can."
- You express yourself well in both spoken and written English and Swedish and have good digital competence.
- It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have experience working as a special education teacher in mathematics.
