The Gothenburg Primary School Administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, culture school, and after-school care. The administration has 138 municipal primary schools where nearly 47,000 students attend school every day. The entire administration has about 9,700 employees who collectively work to develop and care for the operation - together we pave the way for the school of the future.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Kompassen is one of the city's municipal operations that receives students with neuropsychiatric disabilities. The school is geographically located in Björkekärr. We cater to students in primary school from grades 1-9 and have about 50 students distributed across seven mixed-age classes. We also offer after-school care after the school day ends. The students in our operation all have a diagnosis of autism, and most have an additional diagnosis within NPF.

We are now looking for a teaching assistant for a permanent position. You will work in a team together with teachers and other support staff. As a person, you need to be alert and ready to step in and resolve conflicts that may arise.

In your role as a teaching assistant, you will work in all classes as a substitute during absences, but with fixed working hours. The work involves low-arousal responses in all situations as you will be working with students with autism.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a high school education, preferably with a focus on children and leisure or another equivalent education. Experience working with students with autism and additional diagnoses is considered an advantage. Experience from an SU group in primary school is strongly meritorious, as is experience with low-arousal responses. You express yourself fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written.
