JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for a teaching assistant for Vallhamra school for the upcoming spring term, where you will largely work to support individual students or a smaller group of students in grades 7-9.

You will work closely with teachers and special educators as well as other professionals within and outside the school. The assignment involves supporting and guiding individual students or a smaller group of students throughout the school day, both during breaks and lesson times. You help the student structure their schoolwork and are available as support in social situations. You are also involved in communication with parents and guardians and contribute to ensuring that the cooperation between home and school works well. The work is characterized by low-arousal responses and clear pedagogical approaches.

The position is 40%, but an extension of the position may be possible. There is also an opportunity to work as a substitute in the afternoons. Working hours are scheduled Monday to Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

For this position, we are looking for someone who is a trained teaching assistant or educational assistant, alternatively has teacher training, social pedagogy training, or other education that can be assessed as equivalent. Experience and training regarding low-arousal responses and NPF (neuropsychiatric disabilities) is a requirement. If you have experience working in adapted primary schools, special education groups, or SIS (specialized educational settings), it is an advantage.

You are a secure adult who has the ability to create structure and understanding. As a person, you are attentive to students' needs and clear in your communication while being confident in setting boundaries. You have a respectful demeanor with a good ability to quickly build relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues. It is important that you have an interest and commitment to young people from different backgrounds, focusing on completing their studies.
