About the workplace

Kissleberg School is a F-6 school with just over 300 students. It is currently a two-parallel school. The school has three working teams; the after-school program, as well as grades F-3 and 4-6. The staff at the school is dedicated, and all staff work towards ensuring that all students feel safe and receive the stimulation and teaching they need.

The student health team at the school consists of the principal, vice principal, special educator, school nurse, school counselor, and school psychologist. The special educator does not split their time between several schools but is present at Kissleberg School every day of the week.

Job Responsibilities

• You will work closely with the school management and participate in the school's development work.
• You will participate in the promoting, preventive, and remedial student health work together with the school's student health team.
• You will have overall responsibility for following up on the work with extra adaptations and special support together with the school's special teachers and other teachers.
• You will guide staff at the school and after-school program.
• You will work administratively with investigations, needs assessments, and planning for individuals and groups of students in need of special support and support teachers in their work with action plans.
• You will have contact with external contacts such as social services and healthcare.

Who are we looking for

We are looking for a special educator who has the ability to create good relationships. You have a view of students that is based on their possibilities and strengths and who, together with teachers, special teachers, and other staff at the school, works to give each student the opportunity to succeed as much as possible.

You need to be systematic, persistent, and base your work on scientific foundations and proven methods.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a qualified special educator. Professional experience as a teacher and special educator is an advantage, as well as knowledge of students with various forms of NPF.
