About the unit
The Operations Command (OPL) is responsible for supporting the Head of OPL with relevant planning, execution, and decision-support materials for the management of the Swedish Armed Forces' operations, both nationally and internationally. The Intelligence and Security Division supports this work with information and intelligence in all the aforementioned sub-areas. This work involves handling extensive information material with very high demands on structure and methodology.
We are now looking for a Security Clearance Investigator for the International Security Detail (ISD), which is part of OPL J2. ISD is tasked with supporting various parts of the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters with security clearance abroad.
Main responsibilities
In the role of Security Clearance Investigator, you will work broadly across all areas of security clearance, with a focus on personnel security where the need is greatest. You may be responsible for conducting initial investigations, security clearance interviews, follow-ups, and termination interviews. Many of the follow-ups take place at the respective duty stations. Furthermore, you will conduct protection interviews, assess and conduct personnel investigations, and present personnel cases. You will also hold training for accompanying personnel, conduct security checks at duty stations where needed, and support security clearance planning.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Completed upper secondary education
- Several years of current and relevant experience in independent investigative work within the field of security clearance
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Category B driver's license

Merits
- Relevant education within the field of security clearance
- Training in interview methodology
- Current and relevant experience from an authority, preferably the Swedish Armed Forces
- University education in e.g., Political Science, Behavioral Science, or another direction that the Swedish Armed Forces assess as equivalent
- Relevant international experience

The Chief of Defence and the Director General are located at the Headquarters. The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. From 2023-01-01, the Headquarters consists of the Defence Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters Staff Division and independent supervisory units. An employment with us implies placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. A security investigation with register check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be war-placed. The employment also includes an obligation to serve abroad. The meaning of this varies depending on the type of position. A CV and cover letter must be attached to the application for employment.
