The position is located within the Social Services Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Social Services Administration is responsible for authority exercises, ordering of measures, and own management in the areas of individual and family care, LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Certain Functionally Disabled People), and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to.

Your responsibilities

In the role of a care worker, you work with people with physical, mental, and/or intellectual disabilities. You work together with the individual based on their needs, and together you create a meaningful everyday life where the key words are independence and participation. Your tasks include providing support in both daily life and leisure activities, personal care, health, and functional ability. You provide pedagogical support and work consciously to ensure that the individual uses and develops their abilities as independently as possible. The work also involves being the link to society, where you may need to help with communication with authorities and healthcare, among others. In addition to these tasks, you may support with cleaning, laundry, shopping, and handling medication.

We work with IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus), which means that you have the individual's needs in focus. You may be a contact person and are responsible for structuring and planning the individual's everyday life together with them, as well as jointly designing the measures provided. The scope and content of the measures are always based on the individual's needs and well-being and are established through an implementation plan. You are responsible for updating and revising the implementation plan and keeping it current. The work includes daily documentation and journaling in the Treserva system. As a contact person, you also have close contact with relatives and other external parties. You work both independently and in a team.

For this position, the degree of employment is at least 75%, but due to the right to full-time employment applied in Linköping Municipality, you have the opportunity to choose a higher degree of employment up to full-time.

The LSS Division within the Social Services Administration offers operations according to the Act concerning Support and Service for Certain Functionally Disabled People on behalf of the Care Committee. The LSS Division is responsible for group and service housing, short-term respite, cultural and leisure activities, and family care. Through our employees, we offer operations with good quality where we base ourselves on our common value base, which ensures good living conditions for those we serve.

Sparvsångsvägen 10 is a residence for people with intellectual disabilities with moderate care needs. The group housing is aimed at a target group aged approximately 40–80 years. The individuals need help with guidance, some care, social contacts, interaction, structure, and routines. There may be some challenging behavior. The individuals live in their own apartments with access to a shared kitchen, living room, and balcony. One resident is a pensioner and has home days accordingly; the other residents participate in day activities to varying degrees. Activities are based on the resident's wishes and may include cooking together and enjoying a good meal, regular walks, and other activities that enhance community and well-being.

The operation is nicely located in a villa area in Linghem with an accompanying garden, and there are good train connections here. You who apply

We are looking for you who have a completed and approved upper secondary education and experience within support, care, and social services. If you have completed the Care and Nursing Program, the Child and Youth Program, or another pedagogical education deemed equivalent, we consider this advantageous. For the position, you need to have previous experience working with people with challenging behavior. Previous experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and autism is considered advantageous.

Some residents have limitations in verbal communication, and therefore knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication is also desirable. The work involves many customer contacts and documentation, which means it is a requirement that you can communicate orally and in writing in Swedish. You have the ability to use digital tools in your work, and it is advantageous if you have experience documenting in journal systems, implementation plans, and working from IBIC. Since a car is occasionally used in the position, we consider it advantageous if you have a B driving license.

To succeed in the role, we see that you are self-reliant, take responsibility for your tasks, and drive your work forward. You have good cooperation skills and work well with other people, are receptive and communicative. You ensure that messages are clear and reach their target and that expectations are clear for all relevant parties. You have an empathetic ability and can put yourself in others' perspectives and situations without taking over the person's feelings.
