About the job

Do you want to contribute to creating safety and development for children and young people? Then you could be our new Unit Manager.

We are looking for a Unit Manager for a short-term accommodation facility under the LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and a Residential Home for Youth (HVB) under LSS. The position also includes the role of Director for the HVB operations.

Here, you will lead two important operations where the best interests of the child are always at the center. Together with dedicated staff, you will create a safe, developmental, and high-quality environment for children and young people. You will collaborate closely with other Unit Managers within the Children and Young People department and are part of the area's management group.

Responsibilities

As Unit Manager, you are responsible for operations, quality, economy, personnel, and work environment. You lead and develop the operations with a focus on quality, legal certainty, and the best interests of the children.

The role includes, among other things:

  • leading and developing the operations towards set goals
  • responsibility for budget, personnel, and work environment
  • ensuring quality, documentation, and follow-up
  • driving quality and improvement work
  • collaborating with guardians, municipalities, and other partners.

As Director, you are responsible for ensuring that the HVB operations are conducted in accordance with current legislation, regulations, and permits, and you serve as the contact person towards IVO (Swedish Inspectorate of Social Services) and placing municipalities.

Who are you

We are looking for you who are a secure and clear leader with a genuine commitment to children and young people. You work in a structured manner, create participation, and find it easy to collaborate and build trusting relationships.

You have:

  • a degree in Social Work or a degree within Social Care
  • the qualifications required to be approved as a Director for HVB
  • experience working with children and young people
  • good knowledge of SoL (Social Services Act), LVU (Care of Young Persons Act), LSS, and relevant legislation
  • experience in quality work
  • good administrative and digital skills
  • a valid driver's license (Category B).

It is an advantage if you have experience in managerial roles and work within HVB or LSS operations.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Other

The position is a permanent full-time employment with start date as agreed.

Selection takes place continuously during the application period, and interviews will begin in week 34.

Before employment, we will request an extract from the criminal record.

Criminal Record Extract

Before offering employment, you as a candidate are required to present an extract from the criminal record when working in any of the following areas; school or preschool, work with children in other activities than school and childcare, work with children under LSS, work at or in connection with HVB homes, work with the elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
