The Department of Community Planning is in an exciting position with many new and ongoing projects while simultaneously managing existing infrastructure. Within the Technical Operations area, the Water and Wastewater Facilities Unit is responsible for the municipality's water and wastewater network, ensuring that the network is surveyed and up-to-date in the maps with high quality.

We have recently reorganized to better meet the future and all the challenges ahead in managing and developing the municipality's water and wastewater services. The new organization creates new opportunities for us to grow with the task and ensure the best operational economy.

About the workplace

The Water and Wastewater Facilities Unit is brand new and consists of our skilled pipefitters and competent surveying engineers, as well as a coordinator who ensures that daily work is carried out in the best possible way. Additionally, there are two other water and wastewater units: Water and Wastewater Operations and Water and Wastewater Planning.

At the unit, we work with emergency repairs and reinvestments in the existing network. We also handle surveying and ensure that everything is updated in the mapping system. All our work is carried out on our municipal network, which spans across our populated areas, meaning that employees in Water and Wastewater are on call as part of their duties.

The unit is also involved in developing the municipality's water and wastewater tax rates and is engaged in our water and wastewater projects, collaborating closely with the other water and wastewater units. We create opportunities together!

Responsibilities

As the Unit Manager, you have personnel, budget, and operational responsibility for your unit, which currently consists of nine employees, and you ensure that the operations meet their goals. A further expansion of four employees to the unit is expected as a result of the new organization. You work actively for the best project and administration economy. You update and revise the unit's routines to ensure the right quality and delivery. On-call duties may be included in the position.

You will actively contribute to the Technical Leadership Group, which consists of the unit managers within Water and Wastewater, Infrastructure, and Waste Management. You propose efficiency measures, oversee staff competence development, and work with strategic personnel supply planning. You will become part of our active work on our development journey towards a common and strong water and wastewater service.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have post-secondary education in civil engineering or other qualifications that the employer deems relevant. For this position, you also need experience in leadership, such as team leader, project manager, or foreman. You have excellent command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, and hold a valid B-driver's license.

We would appreciate if you have work experience from working as a manager, from economic follow-up, from a politically governed organization. It is also meritorious if you have experience of excavation work, the Act on Public Water Services, and a C-driver's license.

As a leader, you are stable, professional, and have good judgment. You see a striving for improvements in a structured way as a natural and obvious part of your work. Through your good cooperation skills, you create trusting relationships within the organization. With personal maturity and a responsible attitude, you thrive working towards set goals and results and inspire confidence.
