The Group Office is responsible for leading, developing, and coordinating the operations of the Region of Västra Götaland, as well as supporting the region's various administrations in achieving politically decided goals. The Region of Västra Götaland is a significant societal actor, and the Group Office plays a crucial role in creating conditions for good collaboration between all administrations within the VGR, various actors within the healthcare system, the region's municipalities, as well as different companies and societal functions.

About your assignment

As Head of Department for Budget, Monitoring, and Analysis, you are responsible for the Region of Västra Götaland's processes regarding planning, budgeting, and monitoring. A large part of the assignment involves developing governance to ensure that operations achieve the goals decided by the Regional Assembly. You have twelve experienced employees who, in their roles as controllers and strategists, lead, develop, and coordinate the processes, and monitor the region's combined operations.

Your main areas of responsibility:

• Responsibility for personnel and working environment, economics, and operational planning for the department
• Integrate the planning and budgeting processes for administrations and politics, which also includes goals and operational priorities
• Responsible for processes regarding monitoring, compilation, and analysis, as well as clarifying and packaging core messages based on complex information material
• Collaborate in a broad network with politics, administrations, and other internal partners
• Own and steer the group's investment plan
• Responsible for long-term forecasts and calculations for the VGR's long-term economy

You report to the Financial Director and are part of the management group for operational monitoring, economics, and procurement, where you, together with the rest of the management group, drive development issues within economics as well as within the planning and monitoring area for the entire group.

Your base location is in pleasant and modern premises at Regionens Hus in central Gothenburg, with good opportunities to combine with remote work.

About you

You have:

• A university or college degree in economics, public administration, or another relevant field
• Extensive managerial experience with responsibility for operations, economics, and personnel
• Experience from working with planning, monitoring, and analysis of operations in a large and complex organization
• Experience from close collaboration with politics in a public organization
• Knowledge of economic control models

You are a secure and stable leader who inspires calm and trust, even in uncertain situations. With a coaching and present approach, you support your employees in current issues and priorities, while maintaining a clear long-term direction.

You have the ability to create clarity in challenging contexts and translate multifaceted information into clear and relevant messages. By being attentive and relationship-building, you contribute to good collaboration throughout the organization.

You are proactive, drive work forward, and have a curious and development-oriented attitude, with a willingness to understand contexts and further develop methods and processes.
