Kristinegymnasiet is one of Falun Municipality's upper secondary schools, strategically located in the city center of Falun in the beautiful school building. Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a substitute special educator/special teacher for the autumn term of 2026. As a special educator/special teacher, you are part of the school's student health team and a key part of the promotional and preventive work. Together with the student health team, you visit classes as part of this preventive work. You also work operationally to support teachers in the learning situation, where lesson observations, for example, are an important part. You ensure that students receive the right support and that teachers have the right knowledge to structure teaching so that it is accessible to all students.

Together with the student health team, you are responsible for planning and driving the work regarding support at the individual, group, and organizational levels, as well as for students in need of special support. In collaboration with teachers and guardians, you provide support in adapting studies for students. You draw up action plans and conduct investigations, such as pedagogical mappings, when necessary.

You will support students with structure, planning, and study techniques. We assume that you have good familiarity with compensatory aids and competence regarding digital learning tools.

Qualifications

Requirements for the role:

  • We are looking for you who are educated as a special educator or special teacher and have relevant experience working as a special educator or special teacher at the upper secondary level.
  • Previous experience in the teaching profession is required, and it is meritorious if you have worked with upper secondary students.
  • You have documented experience in drawing up action plans and conducting pedagogical investigations, as well as good knowledge and practical experience in working with students who have reading and writing difficulties or challenges in mathematics.
  • We also look for you to have knowledge of and experience with language-developing approaches and that you are driven by creating conditions for all students to reach their full potential.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for you who build good relationships and have a positive attitude, and who have the ability to adapt your support to individual students' needs in a flexible and attentive manner. You are trust-building and have a genuine interest in every student developing and growing. To succeed in the role, we see that you are proactive, solution-oriented, and have good communication skills.

Finally, it is important that you have a professional approach in meetings with students, colleagues, and guardians and have good insight into people's different prerequisites. You find it easy to collaborate and create good working relationships with a coaching and supervisory approach.

Meritorious Qualifications

  • We would appreciate it if you have experience working with students with NPF (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) and/or have worked with students whose native language is not Swedish.
  • Experience of collaboration with other professions such as social services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), etc.

Employment Terms

Fixed-term full-time employment from 2026-08-10 to 2026-12-22.
