Children and young people are important in Ludvika! We demonstrate this by making children and young people the center of the municipal organization. Most resources directed towards children and young people have been consolidated under a single committee. This includes preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, as well as individual and family care. What all these operations have in common is a conscious quality work aimed at continuously developing and improving the work with children and young people.
The Workplace
Do you want to help create the best school for every student? In Ludvika Municipality, children and young people are the core of our organization. We are now looking for an engaged educator for Björkås School and After-School Center – a workplace where we truly make a difference.
Björkås School in Grängesberg is an adapted primary school and after-school center with a clear focus: to be the absolute best place for our students. We work in teams with experienced educators and specialist competencies in a positive and calm work environment. Here, you become part of an operation characterized by conscious quality work and the vision that every student's school day/leisure time should be meaningful and secure.
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you combine pedagogical responsibility with close student support.
Your main tasks include:
- Student Support: You support individual students based on their needs and in close dialogue with guardians.
- Physical and Mental Work: The work may involve physically heavy lifting in a dynamic environment where you are expected to read gestures and expressions when verbal communication is lacking. Mentally, you may face challenges in a rapidly changing world.
- Development of Learning Environments: You actively participate in developing successful learning environments and are responsible for planning.
- Teaching & Planning: You plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching in the after-school center and school according to governing documents.
- Documentation: You are responsible for documenting the student's development and events.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Teacher certification with eligibility for the after-school center.
- Experience adapting learning environments for students with special needs (e.g., speech disorders, NPF, and IF).
- Experience working with individuals who exhibit challenging behavior.
- Category B driver's license (to drive the school minibus).
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience with children with multiple disabilities.
- Medical knowledge.
- Experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is calm and secure, and who maintains focus and calm even in stressful situations. You are meticulous, flexible, and have a good ability to adapt to the students' needs.
You have a positive view of people, a listening and respectful approach, and a non-hierarchical attitude. You find it easy to build good relationships and contribute to security in interactions with students and colleagues.
You are solution-focused and have a good ability to prevent and handle conflicts in a professional and calm manner.
Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.
