In Ludvika, children and young people are important! We demonstrate this by placing children and young people at the center of the municipal organization. Most resources directed towards children and young people have been consolidated under a single committee. This includes preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, and individual and family care. What all these operations have in common is a conscious quality work aimed at continuously developing and improving the work with children and young people.

The Workplace

Junibacken School is a two-track F-6 school in Ludvika Municipality with just over 300 students. Currently, slightly more than half of the students are evacuated to other units due to planned renovations of the school facilities. Junibacken School also has a leisure center (fritidshem), which, like the school classes, is located at different units during the evacuation. The leisure centers, with their dedicated staff, offer quality break activities and various interventions in class and for students during the school day. For the academic year 2026/2027, we will have certified teachers in all classes, as well as incredibly skilled teaching assistants who complement them. Junibacken School also has a student health team consisting of a school nurse, school counselor, and school psychologist. Due to retirements, we will lack a special needs teacher in the team for the academic year 2026/2027, but we hope that you, reading this advertisement, feel that this is exactly the job you want. Your Responsibilities

As a special needs teacher, your task is to contribute special pedagogical competence to both the school's pedagogical work and the student health team's preventive, health-promoting, and remedial interventions. You have an overarching role that is both strategic and operational. This means that you analyze and organize interventions at both the school and group levels, but also that you work focused on individual needs for special support among individual students. The work will be varied and involve many important contacts with students, guardians, staff, as well as external actors. The work requires your ability to be flexible, able to plan, organize, prioritize, and create structure. A prerequisite for the work is having an inclusive and relational approach.

You map out and have a good ability to see obstacles and opportunities in the learning environment at different levels. You contribute your competence and, together with other educators, create conditions for differentiated teaching to meet all students' differences and potential needs for support interventions.

You make assessments and provide guidance/consultation to pedagogical staff. You contribute to creating good teaching quality and can, if necessary, provide direct teaching support, special support to an individual student, or students in a small group. You are part of the school's student health team and conduct investigations in collaboration with educators before establishing extra adjustments and action plans.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements

We are looking for you who are educated as a Special Needs Teacher. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You are well-versed in the school's steering documents. You have experience in student health work with preventive, health-promoting, and remedial interventions.
