Teacher of Swedish as a Second Language at VBU - SFI Temporary Position

Västerbergslagens Educational Consortium, VBU, is a municipal consortium that provides upper secondary education, adult education, vocational higher education, and commissioned training. We also, on behalf of the municipalities of Ludvika and Smedjebacken, are responsible for the municipal activity responsibility and the music school.

About You

You have a teaching degree with at least 30 credits in Swedish as a second language and a teaching license or other equivalent competence. You should have good digital skills and an interest in building courses in a flexible way. Your Responsibilities

The position is a 50% temporary assignment within SFI (Swedish for Immigrants) from August 24 to October 16.

At SFI, you will teach in an introductory group. These are students who have just begun their studies at SFI. During the introductory course, they will start to familiarize themselves with the Swedish language. During the course, they will be assessed to determine which course they will be placed in upon completion. You and the regular teacher will jointly make this assessment. There is clear and structured material ready for use. You must have a good command of both Swedish and English as we work with at least two languages in the classroom. It is an advantage if you speak multiple languages.

Work is performed on-site in Ludvika.

About the Employment Terms

The position is a fixed-term special temporary employment at 50% until October 16, 2026. Start date August 24, 2026, or as agreed.

We require a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) upon employment.
