Job Description

As an English teacher, you are responsible for the planning, implementation, and follow-up of teaching in accordance with the curriculum and course plan. You work actively to develop students' language skills and spark curiosity about the English language and the English-speaking world.

The assignment includes, among other things:

• Plan and conduct teaching with a focus on students' learning and development.
• Assess and document students' knowledge development.
• Work for high goal achievement through adaptations and differentiated teaching.
• Create a safe, structured, and motivating learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, student health services, and guardians.
• Contribute to the school's continued development work regarding safety, study environment, and teaching quality.
• Be a mentor for a class.

Qualifications

Basic requirements for the position:

• Are a certified teacher with eligibility to teach English in grades 7–9.
• Good knowledge of Lgr22, grading, and assessment.
• Good ability to plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on students' different needs.
• Good digital competence and use of digital tools as a natural part of teaching.
• Share Borlänge Municipality's values and see every student's opportunity to succeed.

• Experience of teaching English.
• Worked at a lower secondary school.
• Experience of language-developing working methods.
• Experience of teaching in multilingual student groups.
• Knowledge of language, reading, and writing development.
• Experience of extra adaptations and special support as well as work together with student health services.
• Experience of working in a socioeconomically varied or disadvantaged area.
• Accustomed to working with collegial learning and school development.
• Experience of mentorship.
