Work Science at Dalarna University is in a positive phase of development and needs to be strengthened with a substitute university lecturer. We are looking for you who have a strong interest in working life research with a focus on leadership and organization. The position also includes collaboration with the surrounding society as well as teaching, primarily within independent courses and commissioned education. Teaching within the undergraduate program in Personnel and Working Life may also be included.
Your working day as a university lecturer
Your research is focused on work and organizational psychology. The duties include assignments within collaboration with the surrounding society as well as teaching, especially within commissioned education focusing on leadership and organizational development.
Are you the person we are looking for?
According to the Higher Education Ordinance and the Employment Regulations, the person eligible for employment as a university lecturer in non-artistic activities is one who has demonstrated pedagogical skill, has completed a doctoral degree or has equivalent scientific competence or other professional skill that is significant with regard to the subject content of the employment and the tasks to be included in the employment.
For this position, the following is required:
- A completed doctoral degree in Work Science or a related field, with a special focus on work and organizational psychology.
It is meritorious if you
- have experience in leadership and organizational development in collaboration
When assessing pedagogical skill, emphasis will be placed on:
- Experience of teaching at different levels
- Other pedagogical merits such as pedagogical development projects, production of teaching materials, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with the surrounding society through e.g. commissioned education or other relevant collaborations
When assessing scientific skill, special emphasis will be placed on:
- Relevance of research production in relation to the employment profile
- Independence and ability to innovate as a researcher
- Scope of research demonstrated through nationally and/or internationally published works.
- Being an applicant and/or co-applicant in national and/or international calls for research grants
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with the surrounding society through communication of research results
For the role of university lecturer, teamwork skills are required, and leadership skills may also be significant.
A large part of the work takes place in work teams and in collaboration with the surrounding society, which may entail requirements for good initiative, administrative ability, and a high degree of responsibility to succeed in the role. You may be required to have good communication skills in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
It is important that applicants for employment who lack higher education pedagogical education that qualifies them are given the opportunity to acquire this competence as soon as possible.
Evaluation criteria
The University will make a qualitative overall assessment in this recruitment to determine which applicant has the best prerequisites to perform the tasks in the employment.
Equal care will be given to the examination of pedagogical skill as scientific skill according to HEA Chapter 4. A pedagogical test will likely be applied. In the case of permanent employment of a university lecturer, an expert assessment of the applicants' eligibility and skill will take place.

The Employment
The employment is a fixed-term employment for six months, with a work load of 20%, with an effective date of 2026-08-01. Dalarna University is a higher education institution operating in two locations. The place of employment for this position is Borlänge, and some work will also take place in Falun.
