We are looking for you who want to contribute to the development of the Social Work programme. The subject of social work is undergoing development with investments in education at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels. As part of strengthening the professional anchoring of the Social Work programme, we are seeking a University Lecturer in Social Work with current professional experience from, and an ongoing employment within, municipal social services.

Your working day as a University Lecturer

The duties primarily involve teaching, preferably within the Social Work programme at undergraduate and advanced levels. In addition, course administration and other education-related administrative tasks are included, such as assisting in the coordination of practice-based education.

Approximately 15% of full-time employment is allocated for competence development, collaboration, and personal administration. There are good opportunities to gain pedagogical qualifications through the university's established pedagogical career ladder. There is also an opportunity to participate in the department's research and development projects to the extent that this fits within the employment.

The work also includes developing collaboration with external actors and organizations. Established forms of cooperation exist with the region as well as private actors within social services and healthcare. Joint projects related to practice-based education, profession-oriented development, and competence development are conducted within these frameworks.

Are you the person we are looking for?

Eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer is someone who has demonstrated pedagogical skill and completed a Master's degree or an equivalent academic professional education, or has other professional competence that is significant considering the subject content of the position and the duties included in the appointment.

Requirements for this position:

• A degree in Social Work (Social Worker)
• An advanced level degree in Social Work (Master's degree)
• Good teamwork skills, initiative, and responsibility
• Currently holds a permanent position within municipal social services with duties involving authority exercises or investigations in the field of children and youth.

Merits

• Documented ability to independently plan, conduct, and develop teaching
• Experience in crime prevention work or victim support
• Experience in investigative work concerning children and youth living in social vulnerability or with other social problems.

The Social Work programme is primarily conducted on campus in Falun. Therefore, great importance will be attached to the applicant's ability to be present at the workplace.

Employment

The employment is permanent at 50%. Probationary employment may be applied in accordance with Section 6 of the Employment Protection Act (1982:80), with a trial period of up to six months.
