In our student health work, we operate according to the method Together for Every Child, which means working from a holistic view of the student where early detection and early interventions are key components.

Job Responsibilities

You will work closely with school leadership, educators, and other school staff in a team to create the best conditions for each student's learning and development. You will be an integral part of the school's student health team and participate in the school's preventive and promotional work.

As a special needs teacher, you will, in collaboration with educators, students, and guardians, conduct pedagogical assessments that are compiled into a pedagogical investigation. You are also responsible for communicating the pedagogical investigation to guardians, mentors, and the work team. Your duties also include writing action plans.

You will work operationally, meaning directly with students in learning situations, supporting students in need of special support at both the individual and group levels, as well as in regular teaching. As a special needs teacher, you are expected to contribute to an individualized approach for students in need of support, both in smaller groups and in the classroom, in collaboration with teachers.

In collaboration with the mentor, student, and guardian, you will be responsible for developing, following up, and evaluating action plans.

Qualifications

Requirements for the role:

• Teaching certification (Lärarlegitimation)
• Special needs teacher degree in mathematics development or language, writing, and reading development
• Strong pedagogical insight
• Familiarity with current governing documents
• Good digital competence

Personal Attributes

You should have strong pedagogical skills and be able to meet students in their individual development based on their characteristics, prior knowledge, and abilities, to create good conditions for students to develop. As an educator, you are a secure and clear leader with the students' learning and goal achievement in focus. In the role of special needs teacher, good analytical skills are required to map student needs, design support for individual students as well as groups, and evaluate the support. Good collaboration skills are required as the work involves collaborating with educators, school leadership, guardians, and external actors. You should be able to work independently and be proactive, engaged in school development issues, and willing to develop in a solution-focused manner together with other colleagues at Britsarvsskolan.

Meritorious Qualifications

• Experience teaching in lower and/or middle school
• Good knowledge of functional variations

Permanent full-time position with start date 2026-08-10 or as agreed.
