Job Description

The vision of the Culture School is to create a good quality of life for the residents of Malung-Sälen, with a focus on children and young people. Through culture, we strengthen our students as individuals. The Culture School contributes to a broad and rich cultural life in Malung-Sälen. Here, children, young people, and adults have the opportunity to develop and deepen their cultural practice. We also have a good collaboration with associations and private actors.

We are now looking for a new colleague as a dance teacher. Since dance is big in Malung-Sälen Municipality, we currently have four dance teachers and would need one more to cover one day a week, as it stands at present.

Dance at the Culture School in Malung-Sälen Municipality is very popular, with approximately 300 students aged from 4 years up to adult age. We work with age- and level-adjusted groups. The teaching is scheduled for afternoons and evenings. Our students get to experience Children's Dance, Jazz, Street, Line Dance, and Bugg.

Each year, the school year ends with a sparkling dance show where our students participate, and you as a teacher are an important part of this. The dance show is attended by just over 1,500 people annually.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a dance pedagogy degree from a university or other education/experience that we assess as equivalent.

To fit the position, you have:

• A strong pedagogical interest and are skilled at inspiring children and young people.
• Initiative, drive, and experience working independently.
• Good, thorough knowledge or skills in different dance styles.
• An approach that includes the individual from a child's perspective.

As a person, we highly value your abilities to:

• Enjoy teaching children, young people, and adults.
• Help students grow by showing security, supporting them, and being an inspiration for each individual.
• Work independently. You are ambitious and have a good ability to collaborate with other teachers, educators, and management. You will independently, but also together with colleagues, plan, conduct, and evaluate your teaching.

You have organizational skills, are responsible, and are perceived as a good colleague.

The position requires that you hold a Category B driver's license.

Employment Terms

• Salary Type: Monthly salary.
• Salary Range: The salary for the position currently lies within the range of 31,400–35,100 SEK per month, based on 2025 salary levels. We apply individual and differentiated salary setting.
• Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-08-11.
