The Bjursås school district (Grades F-6) is developing and changing for the future. Our ambitions are high. We are now looking for you who want to help shape our schools! Here, we want all staff to work and collaborate with dedication so that every student can reach their best self. We want students to feel safe and well-being at school and to have trust in the adults around them. We want everyone working here to see good relationships between staff, students, and their guardians as a given. Students should also feel that the teaching at school and in the leisure center is exciting and be curious to learn more. The Bjursås school district consists of three rural schools in Bjursås, Grycksbo, and Sågmyra, all of which are close to beautiful green and forest areas and have good opportunities for outdoor and sports activities.
We are now looking for a leisure center leader for one of the schools' leisure centers, located at Sågmyra School.
In the Bjursås school district, we have a collaboration between the leisure centers that operates as a joint summer leisure program.
Our entire school district is part of Falu Municipality's work "Together for Every Child", a development project to improve cooperation between the school, healthcare, and social services. "Together for Every Child" is about ensuring that all children and young people have access to well-coordinated support in their daily lives, and through collaboration, we can find ways together to provide the right help at the right time.
The school district also works with IBIS - Inclusive Behavioral Support in Schools, a project carried out with all staff in collaboration with Uppsala University.
Job Responsibilities
As a leisure center leader, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in the leisure center and collaborating with the primary school during school hours. You will also be an important actor in the school's safety work.
Qualifications
Requirements for the role:
- Pedagogical education and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent
- You are well acquainted with and have experience of the leisure center's governing documents
- You have experience of working based on school social interventions to promote student success
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is flexible, responsible, and creative. We assume that you have a strong desire to build good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and management. It goes without saying that you contribute to collegial work and have good cooperation skills. You see the different needs of students, take their individual conditions into account, and have an inclusive approach. Qualities such as patience, curiosity, and the ability to build relationships are valued.
Particular emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Meritorious Qualifications
- Interest and experience in working with active breaks as a developmental form of teaching
- Experience of mentorship involving close contact with guardians
- Previous experience/training in safety-building work
- Experience of working with motivational interviewing
- Experience of being an active actor in student welfare cases
Terms of Employment
Permanent full-time position, start date by agreement. Probationary period may be applied if there is a need for assessment.
