Construction Teacher for the Construction and Infrastructure Programme at VBU, Malmen

Västerbergslagens Educational Consortium (VBU) is a municipal consortium that provides upper secondary education, adult education, university college education, and commissioned training on behalf of the municipalities of Ludvika and Smedjebacken. VBU employs approximately 220 staff members, has around 1,800 students, and has an annual turnover of approximately 225 million SEK. Your Responsibilities

We are looking for you who want to help educate the next generation of construction workers and machine operators for the Construction and Infrastructure Programme. As a vocational teacher, you are responsible for teaching, supervision, and assessment of students specializing in Construction Vehicles. You plan and conduct both practical and theoretical instruction, creating the best possible conditions for students' development towards their future careers.

Teaching takes place both in school facilities and out on various projects, where students develop their professional skills in real-world environments. The role also includes monitoring students' work-based learning (APL) and collaborating with industry companies and supervisors.

As a teacher at VBU, you are expected to provide safe, clear, and engaging leadership. You build trusting relationships with students and colleagues and contribute to a learning environment characterized by participation, respect, and high expectations. Together with the work team, you work to develop the education and give students the best possible conditions to achieve their goals.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with professional experience from the construction and infrastructure industry, preferably with experience in operating construction machinery and performing construction work. You have strong professional knowledge and a passion for sharing it with the next generation.

You have:

• Professional experience within the construction and infrastructure industry
• Experience as a construction machine operator
• Driver's license for heavy trailers and heavier vehicles
• Professional certificate for construction machinery

Meritorious

• Teaching license as a vocational teacher within the Construction and Infrastructure Programme
• Experience in teaching, supervision, or training
• Experience working with young people

About the Terms of Employment

The position is a fixed-term holiday cover position and a permanent appointment starting on August 10, 2026. The employment is full-time (100%). In some cases, a probationary period of up to 6 months applies, and we require a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) upon employment.
