Mathematics Teacher for the Introduction Programme

Västerbergslagens Educational Consortium (VBU) is a municipal consortium providing upper secondary education, adult education, vocational higher education, and commissioned training. We operate on behalf of the municipalities of Ludvika and Smedjebacken. VBU has approximately 220 employees, around 1,800 students, and an annual turnover of approximately 225 million SEK. Your Responsibilities

You will teach mathematics as well as one or more other natural science subjects and/or technology. On the introduction programme, students study according to individual study plans and personal goals, meaning your teaching will not follow a class in the same way as on other upper secondary programmes. Your teaching needs to be based on the individual's level and study goals. You must be willing to test and refine your methods, and it is important that you are patient and skilled at explaining mathematics in different ways.

You will be part of a team of dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues. Together with the rest of the team, you are expected to develop working methods, attitudes, and broaden the pedagogical toolbox to meet all students based on their prerequisites and give them the opportunity to reach as far as possible.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher and qualified to teach mathematics and one or more other natural science subjects or technology at the lower secondary and introduction programme levels. You have good and deep subject knowledge and a broad pedagogical toolbox. We are looking for you who have several years of experience in teaching and mentorship, and who find joy in adapting your teaching to students' different needs and prerequisites. Furthermore, you have good digital competence and experience working in various digital platforms.

About the Employment Terms

The position is a permanent full-time position with holiday pay, starting from August 2026. In some cases, we apply a probationary period of up to 6 months and require a certificate of good conduct upon employment.
