In Ludvika, children and young people are important! We demonstrate this by placing children and young people at the center of the municipal organization. Most resources directed towards children and young people have been consolidated under a single committee. This includes preschool, primary school, special needs school, and individual and family care services. A conscious quality effort to continuously develop and improve work with children and young people is common to all operations.
The Workplace
At Björkås School and Leisure Center in Grängesberg (special needs school), we have a clear focus: to be the absolute best place for our students. We are a municipal school where every child and young person is important, and our organization is built to put them at the center. Working with us, you will collaborate with experienced educators and specialists, forming a team where everyone plays a crucial role. We offer a positive and calm work environment where we work towards a shared vision: "truly important".
Responsibilities
As a teacher's assistant here, you will become a key person in supporting our teachers and students. Your tasks are varied, and you will be deeply involved in teaching in both the school and the leisure center. The role involves, among other things, providing support to individual students, leading smaller groups, or being responsible for parts of the teaching in consultation with educators.
Potential travel as an escort (due to medical needs) on school transport.
The work is physically demanding and may involve heavy lifting. Therefore, you need to thrive in an active and dynamic environment where the pace varies and noise levels can be high at times.
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who has:
- Teacher's assistant education, childcare education, or other equivalent education
- Category B driver's license (to drive the school minibus)
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
The following are meritorious:
- Experience working with children with multiple disabilities
- Medical knowledge
- Knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is secure, calm, and able to maintain a professional attitude even in stressful or challenging situations. You are patient, perceptive, and treat students with respect and care.
You feel secure in encounters with individuals who may act out and have the ability to build trusting relationships through a calm and clear approach.
As a person, you are responsible, reliable, unpretentious, and solution-focused. You are curious and wish to develop in your role.
You can work both independently and in close collaboration with others, are flexible in your working methods, and see the value in helping out where needed.
We value your ability to read gestures and expressions when verbal communication is lacking.
Great importance is attached to personal qualities and suitability.
What You Get from Us!
We offer you work in an organization based on collaboration, joy, and learning. You will become part of a team with high staff density and good opportunities for supervision and competence development.
In Ludvika Municipality, we work according to our value base, "Lagandan," which consists of four principles: Relationships, Joy, Learning, and Drive. It is based on cooperation and collaboration, a sense of "we," and a desire to continue developing. Together, we build a workplace where we thrive and develop.
