High School Teacher in Mathematics and Physics. VBU

Västerbergslagens Educational Consortium, VBU, is a municipal consortium that provides upper secondary education, adult education, vocational higher education, and commissioned training. We operate on behalf of the municipalities of Ludvika and Smedjebacken. VBU has approximately 220 employees, 1,800 students, and an annual turnover of approximately 225 million SEK. Your Responsibilities

Teaching mathematics and physics on the Technology and Natural Science programs. You will be part of a team with dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues. Together with the rest of the team, you are expected to develop working methods, attitudes, and broaden your pedagogical toolkit to meet all students based on their prerequisites and give them the opportunity to reach as far as possible.

VBU focuses on good relationships and a positive school culture where mentorship is an important part of the role. We have a well-functioning student health team.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher and qualified to teach mathematics and physics at the upper secondary level. You have good and deep subject knowledge and a broad pedagogical toolkit. You have several years of experience in teaching and mentorship. We are looking for someone who finds joy in adapting their teaching to the different needs and prerequisites of students. Furthermore, you have good digital competence and experience working in various digital platforms. We are looking for someone who is:

  • Skilled in teaching and has good classroom leadership.
  • Receptive and has a genuine interest in the people you meet.
  • Motivated to support and help the individual to grow and develop.
  • Structured and well-planned in your teaching.
  • Cooperative and unpretentious! You need to be ready to develop yourself together with others.

About the Terms of Employment

The position is a permanent full-time employment with holiday pay, starting from August 2026. In some cases, we apply a probationary period of up to 6 months and request a certificate of good conduct upon employment. More information about our operations and the role will be provided during the recruitment process.
