Lund Municipality is facing several major and socially significant contracting projects in the coming years.

We are now looking for an additional construction law attorney who wants to combine deep legal expertise with a business-oriented and operational support role.

About the role and your responsibilities

As a construction law attorney at the Procurement and Tendering Unit, you work closely with the tenderers and the municipality's clients. You provide qualified legal support in contracting-related issues throughout the entire business process – from tendering to execution and any potential disputes.

You provide advice on, among other things, contract interpretation, variations and additional works, as well as questions regarding what is actually included in the contract sum. You work practically with interpretations related to the BSAB system, AMA, and contract documents, and contribute to reducing commercial and legal risks in projects.

An important part of the role is the ability to translate complex legal matters into clear, business-adapted advice. You need to thrive in dialogue with different types of recipients and be able to adapt your language accordingly – from project management to executive level.

You will also contribute in situations where tenders are appealed and serve as a support in processes together with the tenderers.

The role also includes:

  • Facilitating and coordinating construction law issues with other parts of the municipality
  • Documenting, analyzing, and drawing lessons from cases to develop working methods and business practices
  • Creating guidelines, checklists, and support materials
  • Holding training sessions and contributing to increased competence in construction law within the organization
  • Driving improvement initiatives and contributing to the municipality's overall development

We are looking for you

We are looking for you who have a law degree and extensive experience in construction law. You have worked practically with contracting business and have good knowledge of the construction industry's standard contracts such as AB 04, ABT 06, and ABK 09.

You also have:

  • Good experience in interpreting contracts, AMA, MER, and the BSAB system
  • A strong contractual legal foundation and experience handling complex commercial issues
  • Experience with or understanding of legal processes

It is meritorious if you:

  • Have experience of public procurement and the Public Procurement Act (LOU)
  • Have worked with construction law in public operations
  • Have experience of independently conducting construction tenders

To succeed in the role, you need to be both business-driven and pragmatic. You have a holistic perspective where law is used as a tool to create sustainable and functioning businesses.

We place great emphasis on you:

  • Being analytical, structured, and able to prioritize
  • Being able to switch between strategic and operational issues
  • Being solution-oriented and quickly able to familiarize yourself with new situations
  • Thriving in an advisory role where you are close to the operations
  • Being a clear and pedagogical communicator in both speech and writing
