Your Role

In the role of Childcare Assistant, you work with students in grades Pre-K to 3. You are part of both the after-school team and a grade-level working group in the lower primary section. Together with teachers and colleagues at the after-school center, you create a cohesive, safe, and developmental school day for our students. In close collaboration, you plan and structure the day with the goal of providing students with the best possible education and learning. The role also includes actively contributing to the school's systematic quality work.

During the school day, you are a present, active, and supportive educator in the classroom, in half-classes, and during recess. After school hours, you share responsibility for the after-school center's activities. Together with the after-school team, you plan, implement, and evaluate activities based on established guidelines. You work on the premise that the after-school program is part of the school's education, where activities are planned with a clear pedagogical purpose and linked to the school's themes and focus areas. You contribute to creating safety, well-being, and good conditions for students' social and academic development, while ensuring activities are adapted to students' interests, needs, and circumstances. Opening and closing of the after-school center may be included in the role.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• upper secondary or post-secondary education as a Childcare Assistant
• experience working in schools and after-school centers with lower primary students
• experience working with students needing extra adjustments and special support
• experience working with students with NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) diagnoses
• good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you also have:

• experience leading groups in, for example, sports or club activities
• experience participating in the after-school center's development and quality work
• experience leading colleagues and pedagogical work within the after-school center
• experience in literacy-inspiring work and activities aimed at promoting students' language and reading development
• interest and experience in leading structured recess activities.
