Job Description
The Hultgren Laboratory is a KTH infrastructure open to students and researchers from universities, institutes, and industry. It offers a comprehensive set of instruments for sample preparation, material characterization, and measurement of material properties. Although the facility offers measurement services, it is primarily designed for independent use by researchers, who, after appropriate training, can use the tools and instruments themselves. Most of the research conducted at the laboratory focuses on metallic materials, but the equipment is also well-suited for studies of a broad spectrum of other solid materials, such as ceramics, polymers, semiconductors, composites, and biomaterials.
The overall goal of the Hultgren Laboratory is to enable high-quality and significant materials research by providing reliable, accessible, and state-of-the-art experimental resources. A central part of this mission is to promote an efficient and well-functioning user environment that supports both scientific excellence and collaboration between academia and industry.
The Research Engineer will perform various tasks within research and education and participate in ensuring the daily operation of the Hultgren Laboratory, including the introduction of new laboratory users, user training, laboratory measurements, instrument maintenance, and ordering of consumables.
