Job Description

The position focuses on experimental and computational fracture mechanics. A central aspect of the work involves experimental testing of mini-CT specimens combined with numerical modeling. The main goal is to improve existing methods for characterizing fracture toughness in ductile materials. The use of mini-specimens in assessing structural integrity is a rapidly developing field, addressing issues such as geometry effects and the transferability of laboratory results to real components.

The purpose of the project is to develop an integrated testing and calculation-based methodology that can be standardized from a regulatory perspective. You will work in a research environment alongside other researchers focusing on material and fracture mechanics problems related to metallic materials of interest to the process industry. Parts of the project will be carried out in collaboration with the Swedish nuclear power industry.

Requirements

  • A completed PhD degree or a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • In addition to your scientific skills and teaching ability, a relevant doctoral thesis, international experience, and good knowledge of English are required, as English is used in daily work.

About the Position

The employment is permanent, but for a maximum of two years.
