School Counselor at Cultureschool Raketen in Björkhagen
KULTURSKOLAN RAKETEN ABStockholms län, Stockholm
Previous experience is desired
Cultureschool Raketen is an independent, non-profit primary school located in Björkhagen. A total of 254 students attend the school, ranging from preschool class to year 9. The school has been in operation for over 30 years and is well-established in the area. Our profile is "Culture, Environment and Justice," and we work based on the motto "a child has many languages," which means, among other things, that we integrate aesthetic subjects with theoretical ones in what we call "theme" already from preschool class.
The atmosphere at the school is calm, the students are ambitious, and the teachers are experienced.
About the Position
The successful candidate for the School Counselor position must have completed education as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or another education deemed equivalent by the employer. Work experience dealing with children and teenagers' issues, preferably with knowledge of group dynamic processes, is meritorious.
You should have good social skills. The role also involves contact with guardians, school staff, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), and social services.
You will have standard counselor duties: student interviews, preventive student health work, both in groups and individually. You should also feel comfortable working preventively in the classrooms. The counselor is part of the school's student health team together with special needs teachers, school nurse, and principal. Student Health Team (EHT) meetings are held once a week. A psychologist and school doctor are also part of the student health team but, as usual, do not participate as frequently in the operations.
The ideal candidate:
- puts collaboration in focus
- has a positive view of students
- has patience and the ability to set clear boundaries
- has experience working with students with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPF)
- can build trusting relationships with guardians
Collaboration is key to the school's teaching methods, especially in the working method referred to as "theme." For this reason, we place special emphasis on collaboration and adaptability skills.
Employment Details

The earliest start date is August 11, 2026, or as agreed upon. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.
