Are you looking for a workplace where you can make a real difference? Then we need you! At our group homes, Ribban and Viljan, you will become an important part of a dedicated team that together creates security and inclusion within the framework of the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). Here we develop our operations and spread joy in working.
Welcome to our team at Ribban and Viljan!
Job Responsibilities
As a support assistant, you provide individually adapted support in daily life, both at home and during activities outside the residence. You work based on implementation plans in close collaboration with the individual, relatives, representatives, day activities, and healthcare.
We continuously develop our operations and create clarity through adapted communication, visual aids, and other pedagogical tools. You take initiative and actively contribute to development work. Tools such as Widgit Online and Picture My Life are used in the operations.
Documentation according to current legislation is an important part of the work and forms the basis for follow-up and quality in our interventions. The work can be physically demanding and requires good physical fitness. The role also requires flexibility as tasks and working hours vary. A professional attitude and good collaboration skills are essential parts of the assignment.
About the Workplace
The main task of the Social Services is to offer individualized support and services within elderly care, disability services, children and family, adults, and financial assistance. We are present for the residents of the municipality through all stages of life.
Ribban and Viljan group homes are located in Nynäshamn, with proximity to nature, services, and good transportation links. Ribban is located in the Backlura area, and Viljan is in the Utsikten area, close to Sjötelegrafens shopping center and the harbor. Both group homes consist of six apartments as well as common areas such as a kitchen, living room, and staff rooms. People living here have been granted housing with special support according to LSS Section 9, Paragraph 9.
The work group consists of seven support assistants at each unit and a group manager. Working hours are coordinated within the existing scheduling process between the two units, and if necessary, employment can be placed in other LSS operations, both within the regular schedule and through so-called "floating time".
We place great emphasis on respectful treatment and creating a safe and positive environment for both users and employees. We have a strong focus on development and innovative working methods, and collaboration is a prerequisite.
What We Are Looking For in You
To succeed in the role, you have:
- Nurse education with a focus on disability or equivalent education.
- Current experience of working in group homes and/or service housing within LSS.
- Experience working with various behavioral issues.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience with clarifying pedagogy.
- Experience and knowledge of low-affective treatment.
- Experience working with alternative communication.
- Experience working with aggressive behavior.
Personal qualities we are looking for
We are looking for you who are engaged, responsible, and take initiative. You are solution-focused, see opportunities in change, and want to contribute to the development of the operations. You have a respectful and professional attitude, collaborate well with different people, and are unpretentious in your working style.
You follow routines, take responsibility for documentation and administrative tasks, and have an understanding of the ethical considerations the work entails. You are flexible, confident in handling challenges, and gladly use digital tools and pedagogical aids to create inclusion and structure. For you, it is natural to build safe relationships where humor, joy, and camaraderie are a natural part of everyday life.
What We Offer You
- With us, you get to make a difference in people's lives. Here you have close access to your manager and colleagues, influence, and decision-making power.
- Nynäshamn is a calm and safe municipality. Security is also found in our teams – we are unpretentious, encouraging, and support each other when needed.
- Nynäshamn Municipality is part of one of Sweden's strongest growth regions. Our journey gives you the opportunity for challenges and varied tasks.
- We offer free access to the gym, and you also receive a health allowance.
- You have the opportunity to exchange vacation and pension days.
- We have an active staff association where you can rent cottages in the mountains and in the archipelago. You can also participate in various activities such as padel, kayaking, and horseback riding.
Our Recruitment Process
We apply continuous selection throughout the recruitment period. During the summer period, responses and feedback may take slightly longer as operations have holidays. We use a competency-based recruitment method for a fair and objective assessment. Diversity is an asset, and we welcome all applicants. Nynäshamn Municipality has chosen to remove the personal letter and replaced it with selection questions relevant to the position. Answers to the selection questions and CV form the basis for whether you are qualified to proceed in the process.
This position requires a certificate of conduct (extract from the criminal record).
Control of identity and other background checks, such as control of Swedish citizenship, will be conducted during the recruitment process.
We look forward to your application and hope you want to become part of our team!
