About Us

At our unit for Children and Young People, we work to make a difference in the lives of children and young people, always with their best interests in focus. Children and Young People is part of the Individual and Family Care (IFO), and we work in three smaller units. Our unit consists of 14 social secretaries, 2 group leaders, and an engaged unit manager. Here you will receive close leadership and the opportunity to truly make an impact.

Job Responsibilities

As a social secretary within Children and Young People, you work with authority exercises, investigations, and follow-up of interventions for children and young people aged 0–20 years and their families. Your main task is to investigate children's situations and make legally secure assessments according to the Social Services Act and the Law of Urgent Measures (LVU), with the child's best interests and participation in focus.

The work involves gathering information through conversations with children, custodians, and networks, as well as through collaboration with schools, healthcare, and other authorities. You are responsible for planning, conducting, and documenting investigations according to BBIC, as well as following up that approved interventions contribute to a positive and sustainable change for the child and family.

You work from a systemic perspective where the focus is on identifying the family's and network's strengths, resources, and risk factors. An important part of the work is listening to the family's own solutions and creating conditions for participation and motivation for change. The role also includes formulating assessments, decision bases, and statements, as well as contributing to individual solutions that make a difference in the lives of children and families.

You work closely with colleagues and group leaders in daily work and are expected to drive your cases forward in a structured, professional, and legally secure manner. At the same time, you actively contribute to the team's joint work through collaboration, reflection, and knowledge sharing, as well as to a good work environment and the continued development of the operations.

Qualifications

Formally, you need to have:

  • Social Work degree (Social Worker)
  • Experience with authority exercises is meritorious
  • Experience with authority exercises within Children and Young People is highly meritorious
  • Category B driver's license

You work in a structured manner with a good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently, and you understand what is required to drive an investigation forward. You are stable, secure, and balanced even in stressful or challenging situations. Of course, the team is there when needed, and we work together. We think that you who will thrive enjoy collaborating with others and want to be part of our team; you are receptive and contribute to good collaboration and an open climate at the workplace.

You are also self-reliant and have the ability to put yourself in other people's perspectives or situations without losing yourself in others' feelings, and you understand the role of an authority person.
