The National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) works together with other actors to ensure that everyone in Sweden has access to good healthcare and care, as well as a preventive, accessible, and knowledge-based social services system. We are now looking for an investigator who wants to contribute to the development of social child and youth welfare, with a focus on issues related to ANDTS (Attitudes, Norms, Drugs, Well-being, and Stress).
The Division for Knowledge Management in Social Services is responsible for producing and managing knowledge support and recommendations based on the best available knowledge and current regulations for social services in the areas of children and young people, disability, and the elderly. We are also tasked with supporting the development of social services locally and regionally in collaboration with other actors. The division's mandate also includes disseminating and implementing the best available knowledge.
About the position
We are looking for someone who wants to work both as a project manager and project team member in various assignments related to knowledge management and knowledge development. The Unit for Knowledge about Children and Young People 2 has, among other things, the task of offering expert knowledge in the field of children and young people, with a focus on violence against children, mental ill-health, and harmful use and addiction. The unit is also tasked with working close to operations and providing support in social services' preventive and crime-preventive work. Several reforms are currently underway that affect social services' work, including the co-morbidity reform, which highlights the need for support for social child and youth welfare's work with children and young people with harmful use or addiction.
You will work in a team together with other investigators and professionals within the agency, as well as in collaboration with other societal actors. We are looking for someone who is interested in developing our working methods and approaches in close cooperation with your colleagues. You are accustomed to taking responsibility and leading projects, have good environmental scanning skills, and follow developments in the field. You have knowledge of the prerequisites, working methods, and challenges of social services, and are aware of how social services are governed, led, and interact with other societal functions.
We are looking for someone who has
- an academic degree that the agency considers relevant for the position
- good knowledge of children and young people with harmful use and addiction, as well as the interventions provided to this target group
- knowledge of interdisciplinary working methods and operations
- experience in leading projects and development work in collaboration with other actors
- ability to express yourself very well in Swedish, both in writing and in oral presentations
It is meritorious if you have
- knowledge of the regulatory authority functions of social child and youth welfare
- experience working interdisciplinary with children and young people with harmful use and addiction
- a PhD in social work or another relevant subject with a focus on interventions in social child and youth welfare
- state sector experience
About you
To succeed in the assignment, you need to be structured, self-reliant, and results-oriented, as well as able to work within given timeframes and occasionally under pressure. You are very good at collaborating and building good relationships, both internally and externally.

Good to know
The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. You will be based at the office on Västerbroplan in Stockholm, but have the opportunity to work remotely up to two days a week. Your job title will be Investigator, and your placement is with the Division for Knowledge Management in Social Services, Unit for Knowledge about Children and Young People 2.
