Recreational Leader – Arena Satelliten

Music, culture, and sports under one roof

Arena Satelliten is a 5,300 sqm building housing youth activities, two sports halls, and several creative spaces. It is home to the Youth House, Indra Trans queer and women's shelter, various sports clubs, and schools. Our youth activities are part of the KEKS network and target young people aged 16–25.

We work in a socially vulnerable area where safety is the foundation of everything we do. We are not a traditional youth club – here, young people are involved, take responsibility, and co-create. Together, we organize festivals, youth parties, cosplay events, e-sports, rock nights, courses, vernissages, and much more. Creativity and youth empowerment are always at the center.

Job Description

As a recreational leader with us, you will have a unique and dynamic role where you work closely with young people and lead groups in both daily operations and larger events. You will play a central role in the youth group "Young People Against Violence," focusing on event safety and security. You will lead and coach youth groups at various events, working both independently and in teams.

Periodically, we work on larger events and festivals. During these times, we set up and carry out activities together with young people, which means a higher pace, longer working hours, and both mental and physical strain. The work is primarily during weekdays but also includes some weekends.

This role is for you if you want to work closely with young people, thrive in eventful environments, and want to help create safe, creative, and meaningful contexts.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people and/or young adults.
• You are a trained recreational leader or have another education that the employer finds equivalent and relevant.
• Valid Category B driver's license.

Merits

• Training in event safety.
• Experience with the KEKS network's (Quality and Competence in Collaboration) methods and training.
• Knowledge of the Charter (European principles and guidelines for local open youth and leisure activities).

As a person, you create safety, take natural overall responsibility, and enjoy leading and developing both people and operations. You are relationship-oriented, socially secure, and accustomed to creating collaborations. You lead by being a clear and pedagogical role model, plan well, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and find creative solutions. You have the ability to change pace and maintain focus even during intense periods with high workload.

As you will be in contact with young people, a background check and criminal record check will be conducted on the final candidate before employment.
