There are over 130,000 residents in the area. Within the Södermalm District Administration, over 1,700 employees work to ensure that elderly care, preschools, social services, and urban environment services are delivered in the best possible way for the residents of Södermalm and to help us reach the vision of a Stockholm for all.
The Adult Area works with individuals who have substance abuse issues, individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities, and individuals with long-term needs for financial assistance.
We are part of the Social Services Department and consist of approximately 75 employees. We work to provide people in Södermalm with good service, respectful treatment, and professional interventions.
We are currently located in newly built premises at Virkesvägen 3 in Hammarby Sjöstad.
One of our three coordinators is going on parental leave, so we are looking for a new coordinating colleague with a focus on financial assistance for a fixed-term position.
We offer
A pleasant and supportive work environment where development ideas are valued. In addition, we offer:
- Meaningful work where precision, structure, and quality make a concrete difference in operations.
- Winter and summer working hours, as well as flexible working agreements.
- Discounted fitness benefits and the opportunity to purchase the city's sports and swimming hall cards at a subsidized price, along with an annual fitness allowance of 3,000 SEK (2026).
Your Role
Job Description
As a coordinator within the Adult Area, your direct manager is the Area Manager. Your assignment involves being part of the area's management group and, together with other coordinators, driving and developing the area's quality work. You will also support operations within the first-line pilot organization on behalf of the manager. The role includes monitoring the external environment in current operational areas, developing routines and support materials, and collaborating with managers to identify the needs of the operations and employees to further develop existing working methods. You are also responsible for the introduction of new employees and providing support and guidance to case workers in various parts of the case processing process.
One of your main tasks during 2026–2027 is to work together with the unit manager and group leader within financial assistance to be responsible for the implementation of the new law on activity requirements related to subsistence support. The work involves a significant transition both nationally and within the city, where new working methods, methodological support, and processes need to be developed and implemented.
Your Competence and Experience
You have a degree in social work or another higher education qualification assessed as equivalent by the employer.
The work involves both driving development work independently and working on behalf of the area's management group. This requires good ability to work independently, structure your tasks, and work until the task is completed. Your approach is calm, and you want to help others and contribute to solutions. You are clear in your communication and maintain a structured approach at all times.
You must have recent experience working with financial assistance. It is an advantage if you have experience from several of the social services' operational areas and if you have led projects and/or been part of a management group. Given the complexity of the position, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at assessing each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.
