Your responsibilities

You adapt teaching to meet the students' needs and create a safe, inspiring, and structured learning environment. By capturing their interest in music, you create engaging and challenging lessons where students can explore and develop various musical forms of expression. You work both independently and together with colleagues, including through cross-curricular collaborations that strengthen student learning and school development.

Your qualifications

You are a certified teacher for grades 7–9 with qualifications in music. It is an advantage if you are qualified in an additional subject. You are comfortable using compensatory aids in your work to meet student needs, and digital tools are a natural part of your teaching.

With secure pedagogical leadership, commitment, and clarity, you create participation, trust, and good collaborations with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are structured and plan, organize, and prioritize your work, while flexibly adapting teaching to students' needs and changing circumstances. Collaboration is a natural part of your work, both in planning and in sharing knowledge and experiences.

What we offer

Önstaskolan is a comprehensive school with operations from grade 7 to 9, located at Önsta Center in the northern part of Västerås. Approximately 450 students and 60 staff members are here. At Önstaskolan, there are many adults around the students. Safety surveys conducted each semester show that students are happy and are seen by many adults during the school day. The common café located in the middle of the school is a natural meeting place during breaks. Önstaskolan also includes adapted comprehensive school for grades 7–9.

Additional information

Before you can be employed, we conduct a register check, and you must present a clean police record extract.

During the interview, you must prove your citizenship. This can be done with a passport or alternatively a certificate of personal data together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
