Through varied teaching, students will learn to plan and prepare meals, develop an understanding of health, sustainability, personal finance, and conscious consumption choices, and reflect on how choices in daily life affect both the individual and society. You create a learning environment where theory and practice work together, and where students' curiosity, creativity, and independence are given space.
The position also includes some teaching in Swedish as a Second Language for students in grades 4–6, where you work to support language and knowledge development to strengthen students' language skills and learning.
Your qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with the eligibility to teach Home and Consumer Studies. If you also have eligibility in Swedish as a Second Language and experience working in the school system, it is a positive bonus.
You are a confident and engaged educator who plans and organizes your work in a structured manner. You collaborate well, build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, and adapt your teaching to meet students' different needs and prerequisites. We value flexibility and an inclusive approach in your teaching.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to grow in your professional role, contribute to a positive school environment, and be an important part of a school where engagement and well-being go hand in hand.
Here, you will work in a unit with high staff density, close support from student health services, and good opportunities for professional development in autism-friendly working methods.
Here, you become part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show initiative in both big and small matters. We live our core values in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, all year round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approx. 11,500 colleagues around the city, you will have Sweden's most important job.
