We are looking for a teacher

Our teacher within the natural science competencies has, after fourteen fantastic years with us, chosen to start a teaching career in their hometown, Uppsala. We are now looking for a successor for this exciting position here with us in the lovely city of Västerås.

As a teacher at Realgymnasiet Västerås, you create conditions for learning and guide students based on a given educational concept and the program's educational goals. You plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching. Furthermore, you continuously work on assessing goal fulfillment and, together with the student's mentor, communicate this to the student. You participate in subject group work, team work, and are expected to collaborate with colleagues. In close collaboration with your teaching, there is a mentor and student health services at the school.

You will teach primarily in Biology Level 1 and Natural Science Level 1a1. Your teaching will also include parts of the subjects Ecology in Natural Environments Level 1, Pet Animals Level 2, and Fishing and Water Care Level 1.

This position offers the opportunity to truly combine pedagogical skills with your interests in animals and biology.

Qualifications

To be considered for the role, we see that you have:

• Teacher certification with eligibility to teach Biology and Natural Science
• Previous experience in the role of a teacher at the upper secondary school level
