Temporary Position in Preschool Class

Sala Municipality, located in eastern Västmanland, has a population of approximately 22,800 and is the largest municipality in the county by area. The municipality consists of several smaller urban areas as well as the town of Sala, which has 13,000 inhabitants. Thanks to its historical significance, primarily the Sala Silver Mine, Sala holds its rightful place on Sweden's map.

Vallaskolan F-6 is located in new, excellent facilities. We have a need for a temporary teacher for the preschool class this autumn. The school has two preschool classes, and from Grade 1 to Grade 6, there are three classes per grade level. All grades have their own home bases with classrooms, common rooms, and group rooms. The school was built to provide students and staff with a pleasant working environment in modern and bright facilities.

The school has a student health team consisting of special education teachers, special needs teachers, school nurses, counselors, and behavioral scientists. There is also a safety team with representatives from various parts of the school. We benefit from the diverse competencies of the central resource team. We have a well-equipped and staffed school library and access to the municipality's Media Unit resources.

Students at Vallaskolan F-6 are exposed to a language-developing approach in all subjects as well as in the after-school care activities. Our youngest students are given good conditions to learn to speak, read, and write, as well as basic mathematics, so they can later develop knowledge in all school subjects.

Students who feel well learn more; therefore, students are offered movement and play every day, both during school hours and at the after-school care center. Attitude, approach, and good cooperation with guardians are always important for the students' sense of security and well-being.

DUTIES

As a preschool class teacher, you are part of a work team together with preschool teachers and after-school care teachers. You are involved in the planning, implementation, and follow-up of the activities, with a focus on creating a safe, stimulating, and educational environment for the students.

The position includes being responsible for teaching in the preschool class one day a week. You will also replace colleagues during recurring absences related to education and other assignments, and contribute to both preschool class and after-school care activities based on the needs of the operations.

During parts of the temporary position, you will also work with student support and be responsible for smaller student groups.

The duties may vary depending on the needs of the operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have experience working in preschool classes or the earlier years of primary school. Teacher certification with relevant qualifications is an advantage.

You have a genuine interest in students' learning and development and work with a language-developing approach. You have a good ability to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where students are given the conditions to develop according to their needs.

As a person, you are warm, secure, and responsive. You are flexible and solution-focused, and you find it easy to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive work climate. You see the value of working together in a team and are willing to adapt your work based on the needs of the operations.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

Temporary position 75%. The employment is valid until December 18, 2026, or until the permanent employee returns to work.

Start date: August 17, 2025, or as agreed.

Individual salary setting.

Requirement for a certificate of conduct upon offer of employment. This is according to the Act on Register Control in School, After-School, and Preschool Activities. The Swedish Police Authority's criminal record register, RPS 442.5 (14-01-14).
