Kungsängsgymnasiet in beautiful Sala is looking for an engaged and competent vocational teacher in electrical engineering, as one of our electrical teachers is retiring. As an electrical teacher at Kungsängsgymnasiet, you will work closely with two colleagues within the electrical program and have a strong interest in teaching upper secondary students in both practical and theoretical modules.
About the workplace
Kungsängsgymnasiet is a modern upper secondary school with approximately 480 students. We offer eight national programs as well as the Introductory Program. Our goal is for every student to succeed, and for the past three years, we have received support from the Swedish National Agency for Education's initiative "Collaboration for the Best School".
Students feel safe and enjoy being at the school, which is reflected in our safety surveys. We have a high proportion of qualified teachers. At our school, it is important that both students and staff are seen and that students receive the support they need. Job Responsibilities
As a vocational teacher on our Electrical and Energy Program, you will play a key role in giving students a good start in the industry. You plan and lead teaching in our workshop environments and out at workplaces, together with engaged colleagues and industry partners.
We are a small school with short decision-making paths, giving you good opportunities to influence how the education develops. Here, experienced colleagues are happy to share their knowledge and provide you with support and materials for a good introduction.
Here, you will use your professional knowledge to make a concrete difference for students as they enter the industry.
We are looking for you who
We are looking for you who have experience from the Electrical and Energy industry and want to help train tomorrow's professional experts.
You can be a trained vocational teacher or have a relevant professional background and want to take the step into the teaching role. The most important thing is your engagement, your professional knowledge, and your desire to see young people succeed.
The position is a permanent full-time employment where you teach and supervise students within courses on the Electrical and Energy Program. You will become an important and driving force in shaping students' path to working life, both in teaching and as a mentor.
We appreciate that you enjoy combining practical modules with theory and that you have a structured way of leading students forward. You collaborate closely with both colleagues and the industry, and at our school, you will be part of the important development work as we build an attractive program.
You do not need to have all the answers from the start. At our school, there are knowledgeable colleagues who support you and give you the best prerequisites from the very beginning.
Qualifications
- Vocational teacher degree with a license at the upper secondary level as an electrical teacher.
- Alternatively, you have an upper secondary education in electrical engineering and several years of professional experience as an electrician, which the employer assesses as equivalent.
- Requirement for driver's license, category B.
Meritorious
- Knowledge of APL (Workplace-based learning).
- Good local knowledge and contacts within the industry.
Terms of Employment
100% permanent position.
Individual salary setting.
Start date: August 10, 2026, or as agreed.
Requirement for a certificate of conduct upon offer of employment, according to the Act on Register Control in School, Leisure, and Preschool Activities (Swedish Police Authority's criminal record register, RPS 442.5).
