The Health and Civil Society Unit at the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs comprises approximately 30 employees and works with policy areas that promote good living conditions in Sweden. The unit is responsible for issues concerning public health, mental health and psychiatry, dental care, alcohol, narcotics, tobacco, doping, health protection and disease control, civil society, sports, religious communities, and youth issues. The unit is also responsible for the oversight of the Public Health Agency of Sweden, the Swedish Board for Health and Welfare Technologies Assessment, and the Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society. The unit is characterized by a spirit of cooperation and a development-oriented approach. We work together to make people's lives a little better every day.

In the role of case officer, you drive and develop issues within the public health sector, which includes government assignments and participation in legislative work, for example, by serving as an expert in inquiries, preparing reports and other materials, as well as proposition and ordinance matters.

You prepare and analyze materials that form the basis for the government's positions on issues concerning public health. Furthermore, you participate in and initiate cooperation both within the unit and with other parts of the ministry, as well as collaboration and contacts with external actors in the public health sector. In the role, you are also involved in EU cooperation and international cooperation on issues concerning public health. Finally, you will work within the framework of the government's oversight of agencies.

Your background

We are looking for someone who is at the beginning of their career and has an academic education relevant to the work. You also have relevant experience within state operations. Furthermore, you express yourself very well orally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

It is meritorious if you have experience working within the Government Offices, experience working in a politically directed operation, and have an understanding of the role and function of the Government Offices. It is also meritorious if you have experience working in public health, dental care, and disease control. It is also meritorious if you have knowledge of Swedish public health policy, as well as knowledge of public health, dental care, and disease control, and if you have knowledge within the unit's areas of responsibility.

In this role, you should also be able to take own initiatives and drive issues in cooperation with other parts of the Government Offices. You have good cooperation skills and the ability to contribute knowledge and solutions, both in your own processes and in processes driven by other parts of the Government Offices. You are responsible, quality-conscious, precise, and structured. Furthermore, you have the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with and analyze complex issues and make quick decisions with high quality.

It is important that you thrive in an environment where your more long-term and strategic work is combined with fast orders with short delivery times.
