Do you have experience teaching in an after-school center (fritidshem) and would like to work in a pleasant rural school close to the city? Then you could be the person we are looking for at Almunge School.

Almunge School is a pleasant rural school with international contacts, nature right at your doorstep, and approximately 550 students in grades Pre-K to 9. The school is characterized by a professional and friendly atmosphere. For us, the students' safety and well-being are just as important as meeting academic requirements. We have a well-stocked school library with its own librarian and a large sports hall with a swimming pool.

We are a practising school (VFU-partnerskola) and host teacher students with various specializations. As an employee at Almunge School, you are part of a school that creates good conditions for learning.

Description of Duties

The role involves responsibility for our after-school activities together with other teachers and after-school staff. You will participate in planning for students' learning and social development. The role includes being a pedagogical resource during the school day and conducting some teaching. Your assignment includes leading pedagogical activities in the after-school center, both indoors and outdoors. The school's proximity to nature means that outdoor pedagogy plays a central role for us.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a Swedish teaching license with qualification for the after-school center and experience working with lower grades in primary school. To succeed in the role, you need to have good knowledge of the school's and after-school center's governing documents. The work requires good oral and written skills in the Swedish language.

Experience teaching in one or more of the school's subjects is considered an advantage.

You take initiative and launch activities that engage students in the after-school center's activities. You are flexible and can quickly adapt to changing situations and students' different needs throughout the day. You have good collaboration skills and work closely with colleagues to create a safe, inclusive, and developmental environment. At the same time, you are relationship-building and establish trusting contacts with students, guardians, and colleagues.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
