Ellen Fries Gymnasium is a municipal upper secondary school with just over 600 students. The school offers many different educational pathways, including school-based education and apprenticeships. Within the framework of the introduction program, there are several different variants. The school has many sports students who are either studying at the National School of Sport and Health (NIU) or the Local School of Sport and Health (LIU).

Description of Duties

In addition to teaching in the subjects of Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language, the role includes mentorship. Your task is to conduct pedagogical activities adapted to the different needs and prerequisites of your student groups. You contribute to developing teaching at the school together with students, colleagues, and other staff, and you plan and carry out teaching according to the curriculum.

By encouraging students' curiosity, creativity, and knowledge-building, you make teaching manageable and meaningful for the school's students. You collaborate with colleagues to create a positive learning environment as well as a good working environment for everyone present at the school. This is a fixed-term position at 70% with an start date from 2026-08-10 until 2026-12-07.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach both Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language at the upper secondary level. You have experience working in digital learning platforms. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a prerequisite for the position. Previous experience teaching at the upper secondary level is meritorious.

You collaborate well with others and relate to your surroundings in a listening and flexible manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive way. In your teaching, you have a good understanding that students have different prerequisites for absorbing knowledge. You adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
