From August 2026, the Knivsta Municipality's common Autism Spectrum Group (AST) will move from Adolfsbergsskolan to its own local premises in Knivsta. AST will then belong to Valloxskolan's organizational structure, but you will be employed by AST and work in their own premises.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to make a difference for students who need extra support to succeed in school?

We are looking for an engaged teacher in Mathematics and Natural Sciences for our special education group for students in grades 4–9. The group consists of students with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPF), primarily autism, and teaching takes place in smaller settings with high staff density and clear structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct teaching in Mathematics and Natural Sciences according to the Swedish National Curriculum (Lgr22).
• Adapt teaching based on each student's needs through differentiation, clear goals, and individual support.
• Use visual aids, clear lesson structures, and alternative ways to demonstrate knowledge.
• Create a safe and predictable learning environment focusing on relationships, study quietness, and low-affective interaction.
• Collaborate closely with special needs educators, student health services, and other staff regarding adaptations and student development.
• Maintain contact with guardians and document students' progress.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who

• Are a certified teacher in Mathematics and/or Natural Sciences for grades 4–9.
• Have experience teaching students with NPF, especially autism.
• Are confident in clarifying pedagogy, differentiated teaching, and low-affective interaction.
• Are calm, structured, and relationship-building.
• Have good collaboration skills and see possibilities in every student's development.

Merits

• Special educational competence or education within NPF/autism.
• Experience working in smaller teaching groups.
• Knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), social stories, visual supports, and digital learning tools.
